Université Cheikh Anta Diop de Dakar (UCAD)
The Institut fondamental d’Afrique noire, or African Institute of Basic Research (IFAN) is responsible for Cheikh Anta Diop University's participation in EUMAGINE. IFAN was established in 1936 as French Research Centre in West Africa and later integrated in the University of Dakar. The institute is comprised of six departments; EUMAGINE is located within the Department of Human Sciences. IFAN is known as well for publishing, producing a number of academic journals and academic studies, primarily within geography, linguistics, anthropology, history, and archaeology.
