Work Package 12 concerns the management of the EUMAGINE project and runs throughout the project’s entire duration. Both the Project Coordinator (PC) and Project Manager (PM) are based at UA (Belgium).
The ultimate objective of this work package is the management of resources in such a way that the project is completed within the defined scope, time and cost constraints. Sub-objectives include coordinating project activities (administration, monitoring of project progress, timing, milestones and deliverables) as well as ensuring the project’s scientific quality. The work package guarantees efficient cooperation and communication on two levels: within the project team and with the Commission.
The Project Coordinator (PC) is responsible for the project coordination, as such all communication with the European Commission will be channeled through the PC. The PC chairs all project meetings. In her mandate, she will be assisted by a Project Manager (PM). The PC/PM are responsible for: 1) Following-up duties of members of the General Assembly; 2) Building and updating the project website in collaboration with PRIO (including the creation of intranet for consortium partners); 3) Setting up the guidelines for the ‘Series of Project Papers’ (PP) that will be produced during the life of the project and that will form the basis for publications in international journals; 4) Monitoring project progress, timing, milestones, and deliverables as well as the execution and follow up of the project administration; 5) Preparing and organizing the annual Management Team (MT) meetings (agenda, invitations, logistics and report writing), and organizing Consortium & Scientific & Policy Committee Meetings (CM); 6) Organizing dissemination activities and the Round-up Conference at the end of the project.
The Management Team (MT) consists of the project’s initiators, and both the project’s methodological expertise and the EU/non-EU perspectives are represented in it. The MT is responsible for: 1) Preparing and supervising the project activities and the timeline, and the Annual MT meetings; 2) Supervising the quality of the research methodology and the quality and content of the Project Papers; 3) Following-up the communication with the Commission and supervising the reports to the Commission.
The website and Guidelines for Project Papers Series will be on the website in 2010. The periodic report will be ready in 2011, the Final report in 2013.
